“I think it’s probably a little bit harder in real life. I’m sure the more I play the better I’ll get but that’s how it is in real life. “It’s a tough game to play just being able to understand movements and everything. “I think it replicates it pretty well because it is extremely hard to pitch in the game,” Price said. It took me by storm, I enjoyed it and those guys treated me well.”Īs mentioned before, the MLB 2K franchise has a big focus on pitching and even awards $1 million to a lucky fan as part of its yearly “Perfect Game Challenge.” Price, who is an admitted gamer himself, believes that while the game replicates the art of pitching, it’s still a little bit easier than the real thing. “I grew up dreaming to play Major League Baseball and I didn’t envision winning a Cy Young or being on the cover of MLB 2K13 or going out to Los Angeles and shooting commercials. Price is the latest Rays player to grace the cover (teammate Evan Longoria was on the cover for MLB 2K10) but even with the game building its core around pitching, the Tampa Bay star was still shocked to have been awarded with the honor. The former Cy Young award winner and Rays ace nabbed the cover spot for 2K Sports’ annual baseball simulation game which released earlier this week and The Post was able to catch up with him to find out about his gaming habits.
